On Our Radar: Dana Citrin and Joe Noonan

with No Comments

Tell us a little bit about your show.

J: Our show is called Hanging Chad. Beyond that, we’re still figuring it out. We mostly play rock, punk and rap.
D: If our show had an aesthetic… I think our spirit color is probably grey. Like, a cool grey.
Who are you currently playing on repeat?

D: Dollar Signs, but I can’t play it on the show because it’s trash. I also like Current Carry by Vetiver.
J: This past week I’ve been listening to a lot of Mick Jenkins; he’ll definitely be on the show.

Any musical guilty pleasures?

D: It should probably be pop punk, but I don’t feel guilty about it. I love The Story So Far.
J: For me it’s probably Chief Keef.

What’s your PSA of choice?

D: the one about dads. Or the septic one. Stay tuned if you’re into either of those.
Do you have a favorite object in the KWUR studio?

D: Probably the robotic-looking power glove that lives on the desk. There’s also a leg massager in here somewhere.

What impact do you want to have on your listeners?

D: I want people to stop playing Closer at frat parties. I want people to play Dat $tick.

J: I wish kids were rockin’ out more nowadays. There’s a severe universal lack of doing punk shit.
D: True. People are very alarmed at this stuff. I want to be moshing every weekend.

If you had a band, what would you name it?
J: Prune Juice on Fire or Madam Sandler.
D: The Dog Whistles. Actually, it depends on the genre. Maybe the Holographic Jumpsuits. Or Hanging Chad.

Any messages for the fans?
J: Listen to our f*ckin’ show. That’s our message.
Tune in to Hanging Chad every Monday evening from 10-12PM.
